What is Salmonella?

Salmonella is one of the many types of bacteria. There are several forms or types of salmonella bacteria, however the type that commonly causes food poisoning is known in the  medical world as non-typhoidial salmonallae.  Non typhoidial salmonallae inhabits in the intestinal tracts of humans and other animals.  It typically causes illnesses in humans when it is transmitted through foods contaminated with animal or human feces.
